Job description
This role is responsible for providing safe, cost-effective, and timely engineering solutions to support production, maintenance, and other departments at the plant. The role will focus on rotating equipment, overseeing maintenance projects, collaborating with capital teams, and offering technical advice to improve equipment performance.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Preferred: ISO 18436-2 Vibration Analyst (Category II) certification
Experience Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in rotating equipment engineering in chemical or refining industries
- Knowledge in selecting and applying rotating equipment
- Experience overseeing and supporting the overhaul of turbomachinery and compressors
- Familiarity with industrial lubrication systems and mechanical seals
- Strong understanding of mechanical and piping systems
- Ability to read and update technical documents (prints, drawings, schematics)
- Skilled in MS Word and Excel
- Fluent in English (written and oral)
- Flexible schedule to meet business needs
Key Responsibilities
- Define project scopes, costs, and timelines for repairs, replacements, and capital projects
- Design and supervise drafting work for engineering projects
- Handle materials and equipment requisitions
- Oversee equipment installation and ensure compliance with engineering standards
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and consultants for project work
- Supervise contractors or plant staff during equipment installation or maintenance
- Analyze maintenance needs and recommend equipment improvements
- Develop and update rotating equipment standards
- Lead failure analysis investigations and recommend solutions
- Communicate project progress to relevant personnel
- Provide training for plant staff as needed
- Lead with positive reinforcement of company goals and values
- Handle other duties as assigned
- Work in environments with potentially hazardous material
