Production & Archival Coordinator sought for The HistoryMakers, the nation’s largest African American national nonprofit organization located in Chicago’s South Loop (www.thehistorymakers.org). This position must work on site. No hybrid or remote work possible. Prior experience captioning photos using photoshop necessary. Also, must be able to organize and process “paper” and video collections using The HistoryMakers guidelines. Ability to write and be detailed along with knowledge of Microsoft Excel that includes pivot tables and VLOOKUP. The person hired will be expected to be flexible.
RESPONSBILITIES
Processing personal collections of a select group of HistoryMakers that include photos, letters, speeches and videos;
Photo captioning using Photoshop as well as batch processing using scripts;
Participating and or hosting Zoom recorded video sessions with HistoryMaker to identify document provenance and use this information to create metadata and photo captions for The HistoryMakers Digital Library https://dl.thehistorymakers.org/?view=masonry
Data entry into The HistoryMakers FileMaker database;
Produce reports using The HistoryMakers FileMaker database;
Troubleshoot equipment and software as necessary.
