Description of Position
The Financial Planning and Analysis Senior Associate provides financial and data analytics on Business Unit (BU), Functional, and total Corporate P&L activities. The Senior Associate plays a key role in reporting on projected financial and operational results of TPG Operating Group and managing against key performance indicators (KPIs) of both BUs and Corporate Functions. The Senior Associate works with other FP&A team members to support the Firm in achieving business goals and creating value.
Principal Responsibilities
- Support the continuous improvement of the current budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes and deliverables
- Develop and maintain robust financial models to forecast the future performance of various Firm strategies
- Efficiently and accurately model ad-hoc business scenarios to drive thoughtful and confident decision making
- Assist in the development of presentations to Senior Management by preparing reports, graphs, and charts of financial data
- Monitor operating performance, conduct root cause analysis to identify key drivers and variances, and highlight trends via executive reporting
- Compile data and develop reports/dashboards to evaluate financial results and performance
- Perform revenue and expense trend analysis to identify operating efficiency and cost reduction strategies
- Support strategic projects requested by Senior Management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree: major in accounting, finance or business, CPA a plus
- 5+ years of finance experience; proven FP&A skills a plus
- Strong financial modeling, analytics, and data mining skills
- Requires a data driven mindset and ability to add structure to fluid and/or ambiguous requests
- Ensures the quality of work output by displaying a keen attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment across group lines to achieve goals
- Results oriented, strong organizational and time management skills with ability to multi-task
- Resourceful, efficient professional with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, analysis and reporting of financial data
- Proven acumen in leveraging Excel on an expert basis, experience with PowerPoint
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as strong oral and written communication skills
