Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Plant Engineer with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude to join our team. The Plant Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing all plant equipment, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal downtime. This role will work closely with production and maintenance teams to support the continuous improvement of our facility’s operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and troubleshoot high-speed packaging equipment including depalletizers, fillers, pasteurizers, cartoners, tray packers, and palletizers.
- Lead equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications to improve performance and minimize production interruptions.
- Ensure the functionality of electrical, mechanical, and control systems, including PLCs, motors, and automation components.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to increase the reliability and longevity of equipment.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to quickly resolve equipment breakdowns and identify root causes.
- Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to recommend improvements in efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures and machine guarding requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and plant optimization projects.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and equipment performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field AND/OR a Licensed Electrician
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring, motors, and basic PLC programming.
- Solid mechanical skills and experience with high-speed production equipment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automation and robotics in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with safety and regulatory requirements in the beverage industry.
- Certifications in electrical or mechanical systems are a plus.
