Our client, a large financial institution in NYC is looking for a Technical Project Manager for a 6-month hybrid contract. The position will be joining their Global Operations team, focusing on delivering high-quality technical program and project management to meet both internal and external customer needs. In this role, you will manage a variety of technology projects, including infrastructure, systems, and applications, and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects from initiation through delivery. Your background in working with financial clients will be critical to delivering technology solutions that meet regulatory, security, and operational standards in a high-stakes environment.
- This is a hybrid contract and may require 2-days/week onsite in NYC.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage technology projects, including infrastructure, system upgrades, and application development, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams (IT, operations, product management, and finance) and external stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones while coordinating resources and managing budgets.
- Monitor project progress, manage risks, and troubleshoot issues to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Ensure effective communication with all stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, challenges, and successes.
- Oversee vendor management, contract negotiations, and external partnerships related to technology implementations.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews and ensure lessons learned are documented and incorporated into future projects.
- Manage relationships with financial clients, ensuring their unique needs are met and all solutions comply with industry regulations and standards.
- Ensure the alignment of technology solutions with business strategies and operational processes in a global setting.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of technical project or program management experience within the FinTech, finance, or banking industry.
- Proven experience managing complex technology projects, including infrastructure, systems, and application development.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, security, and operational standards in banking or financial services.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project, Asana) and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
- Strong vendor management skills, including contract negotiations and partnership oversight.
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Degree qualified in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related subject area with proven project management delivery.
