Job Summary
The Data Science Enablement squad is seeking an experienced and proactive MLOps Engineer to join our team. This role is crucial for leading the integration and optimization of AWS SageMaker as we transition from IBM Cloud Pak for Data. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in deploying machine learning models in AWS SageMaker and possess strong leadership qualities to guide the squad through this transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the deployment of machine learning production models using AWS SageMaker.
- Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to expand the Feature Store, introduce Model Registry, CI/CD pipelines, and implement real-time model scoring for credit models.
- Manage and optimize SageMaker instances and resources to ensure efficient operation.
- Implement and enforce best practices for model versioning, monitoring, retraining, and governance.
- Work on the in-house build of the Feature Store using a combination of Snowflake and Cloud Pak for Data.
- Transition the current model deployment framework from IBM Cloud Pak for Data to AWS SageMaker.
- Monitor deployed models to ensure performance, scalability, and compliance with security and governance standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to model deployment and performance in SageMaker.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in AWS SageMaker and related technologies, and bring this knowledge to the team.
Qualifications
- Proven experience deploying and managing machine learning models in AWS SageMaker.
- Strong understanding of machine learning, data science, and cloud computing.
- Experience with Docker, Kafka, and Snowflake.
- Familiarity with security, compliance, and governance in cloud environments.
- Terraform experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership experience, with a proven track record of guiding teams through platform transitions or significant technical implementations.
