About the roleAs an early member of Marble’s engineering team, you’ll be responsible for partnering with our head of engineering, CEO, and the broader team to build our initial products as we rapidly build for scale. As we grow you’ll be responsible for scaling the function to help us build best in class product. Your job will not fit tightly in a JD. But some early responsibilities will include:
- Build our initial referral product for counselors. When a family turns to a school counselor for help, they often get a physical PDF of clinics with stale information and monthslong waitlists. You’ll figure out the right product to build to replace that broken process and make referring to Marble feel like magic for school counselors and families.
- Build our initial group therapy product that teens will interact with, answering key questions like how should we manage scheduling and how can we make the experience engaging for teen users.
- Build our initial parent-facing product. We don’t yet know what we need to build to help parents feel confident in Marble. You’ll help us figure that out and then build it.
- Build our V1 clinical operations layer. To operate efficiently, we need to solve problems with technology that most healthcare companies solve with humans. Build the tech that verifies benefits instantaneously, that creates price transparency for parents and students, that allows therapists to seamlessly take notes.
Ideal traits- Thrives in ambiguity. If you’re energized by imposing structure in an uncertain, dynamic environment and making sound decisions with imperfect information, this role is for you.
- Low status, high grit. Going from 0 to 1 isn’t glamorous. You’re ready to roll up your sleeves and do the hard work required to ship new product as fast as possible. You’re excited to be on a team where everyone is all in and works very hard.
- Relationship obsessed. You care deeply about the people we’re building for and the team we’re building together.
- You love feedback. You’re excited about this job as an opportunity to learn. You seek out feedback as the best way to continue to grow.
- Strong product instincts. You are excited to operate in an environment where you have tremendous autonomy. You have strong instincts on the right way to build and can fill in ambiguity with strong questions and your own product instincts.
- You don’t like working at big companies where you’re responsible for optimizing a very narrow surface area of responsibility and you have teams of people supporting you
- Acts like a Marble owner. As a part of the founding team, we expect you to help shape the direction of the company. That means raising your hand when something seems off or broken and proposing a way to do it better.
