The IT Systems Manager is responsible for leading and coaching staff to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of Linux and Windows server systems. This role involves managing daily operations, optimizing system performance, reducing downtime, and overseeing security measures. The IT Systems Manager also plays a key role in budget forecasting, hardware and software selection, and providing technical support, while staying updated on innovative technologies to recommend departmental improvements.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Lead and coach a team of System Administrators to achieve efficient and reliable IT operations in line with company goals.
- Manage the design, implementation, monitoring, and optimization of Windows and Linux servers, ensuring system availability and performance.
- Oversee the security of all corporate data by enforcing robust security infrastructure and policies.
- Handle hardware and software selection, implementation, and technical support for business applications, communicating planned maintenance and resolution periods to users.
- Provide substantial input into the corporate IT budget, researching and recommending relevant IT equipment and services.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience, with additional training in system administration, network security, or network administration preferred.
- At least five years of experience managing multiple servers across different operating systems and wide area networks, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
- Expert knowledge of IT best practices, including advanced technical skills in Active Directory, TCP/IP networking, Microsoft Windows and Linux server OS, LAN/WAN technology, DNS/DHCP, IIS, Apache, WildFly/JBoss, VMware, RHEL, and Citrix.
- Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, along with strong leadership and conflict management abilities.
- Ability to multitask with attention to detail, deadlines, and the capability to troubleshoot, plan, and organize effectively.
