Our client, a leading real estate investment firm, is hiring a VP of Real Estate Development to join their Nashville office. The VP of Real Estate Development will be a key leader within the organization, responsible for overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operations of our residential real estate developments. This role involves strategic planning, operational management, and cross-functional leadership to ensure the effective management and development of our real estate investments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in real estate operations, a deep understanding of the investment landscape, and a proven track record of delivering operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of real estate professionals.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented culture within the operations team.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of operational staff.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the operational management of the real estate portfolio.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align operational strategies with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Drive initiatives to enhance the value and performance of the real estate assets.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of all real estate properties, including leasing, property management, maintenance, and tenant relations.
- Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in property management.
- Monitor and analyze property performance metrics, and develop strategies for improvement.
- Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and cost controls are implemented.
- Conduct financial analyses and reporting to support investment decisions and operational improvements.
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with investment agreements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including property managers, brokers, and service providers.
- Engage with investors and stakeholders to provide updates on operational performance and strategic initiatives.
- Address and resolve any issues or concerns raised by tenants, stakeholders, or partners.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks, including legal, financial, and reputational risks.
- Oversee property inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 3 - 6+ years’ experience in management of residential real estate development projects.
- Strong excel experience
- High level of attention to detail
- Proven track record of managing large-scale real estate portfolios and driving operational efficiency.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with executive leadership and external stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of real estate market trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
