The Training Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing training programs across all Ugly Dumpling locations. This includes onboarding new employees, ongoing staff development, and ensuring that all team members meet the highest standards of food quality, customer service, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in restaurant operations, excellent communication skills, and a passion for mentoring and developing talent.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design and implement comprehensive training programs for all levels of restaurant staff, including new hires, supervisors, and management.
- Develop training materials, manuals, and tools that align with Ugly Dumpling’s brand standards and operational procedures.
- Regularly update training content to reflect new menu items, policies, and best practices.
- Provide continuous training and development opportunities for existing staff to enhance their skills and advance their careers within the company.
- Identify areas for improvement and work with restaurant managers to address performance gaps through targeted training.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and on-site visits.
- Ensure all training programs comply with industry regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.
- Serve as a mentor and coach to restaurant managers and team leaders, providing guidance on best practices and leadership development.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Track and report on training program effectiveness, employee progress, and overall impact on restaurant performance.
- Utilize data and feedback to make informed decisions about training needs and adjustments.
Qualifications :
- Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, food safety, and customer service standards.
- Proficiency in creating training materials and using digital training platforms.
- Passion for mentoring and developing talent.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in restaurant software and tools, such as POS systems, scheduling software, HRIS, LMS, etc.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.
- Adaptability and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to travel to various restaurant locations as needed, up to 90% travel.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Education, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in training and development, preferably within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
