StaffBright is on the lookout for an experienced HSE Coordinator to join our client’s team in Napoleon, Ohio. With the recent opening of a brand-new facility and ongoing expansion, this is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing organization!
Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and manage workplace hazards using advanced engineering expertise.
- Provide structural safety guidance by analyzing factors like fatigue, stability, stress, concentration, and creep. Design safety equipment and modifications for machinery to mitigate hazards and review safety policies for alignment with engineering best practices, suggesting technical enhancements as needed.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DEQ, EPA, and DOT regulations by maintaining and applying up-to-date knowledge of regulatory standards.
- Evaluate industrial hazards within the facility and lead programs to prevent accidents and reduce their frequency. Work closely with engineering and maintenance teams to address potential hazards and ergonomic issues with new and updated equipment.
- Oversee workers' compensation and legal cases, implementing strategies to proactively reduce claims.
- Investigate accidents to determine causes and prevention methods, communicate findings to the relevant team members, and ensure appropriate follow-up actions.
- Assess safety training needs in accordance with regulatory standards and benefits, and develop an annual training plan aligned with the HSE Management Program.
- Monitor and review incident rates (frequency and severity) monthly and report on metrics as required.
- Manage hazardous materials and waste, ensuring proper storage, disposal, and coordination with third parties for documentation and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree (Highly preferred)
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with internal and external auditing
