Job Description
Day to Day Responsibilities of this Position and Description of Project:
Seasoned payments data analyst that able to support payment processing platform initiatives focused on multi-payment processor integration, approval rate and cost optimization, platform scaling, and new product rollout. Use data-driven insights and partner with cross functional stakeholders, to identify gaps and opportunities in eBay’s payment processing volumes. Support/lead data analysis via building dashboards tools and queries to generate insights and highlight important trends for the payments platform.
Analyze data and understanding industry trends and processing partner capabilities/gaps. Support experimentation and A/B testing, and build detailed reporting to support payment platform optimization.
The role will lead the management and execution of several strategic payments platform monitoring and data analysis initiatives to help prioritize focus for the product teams and identify any issues with product performance.
Establish internal controls, alerting mechanisms and procedures for accurate reporting for the payments processing volume.
Leverage experience in payments/financial services industry to design and implement best-in-class practices for data reporting and management
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in defining and maintaining consistent ‘Column/Field’ definitions across multiple dashboards and reports.
Develops programs, methodologies, and files for analyzing and presenting data. Evaluates data quality, applications, and functions. Produces output and maintains operation. Researches new data sources and analytical tools.
Communicates regularly and effectively with team members and management, and communicates results effectively to management and/or customers.
Delivers data products in report/presentation format, or verbally, to management and/or customer specifications and timelines. Points out system or process problems when noticed and engages the team in problem solving. Facilitates satisfactory communication and resolution of problems.
Will this candidate interface with IT and business teams? If so, which internal/external groups?
Act as the analytics point of contact for payment performance
Involves working payments platform team and figure out the metrics for the payment platform
Will work with Product managers and lead to track metrics report it out to leadership
Conduct weekly/monthly meeting with stakeholders- mitigation with the dashboards, reports
Heavy in payment metrics and platform
Apart of analytics teams – Strategy & Analytics
Will not be starting from scratch- take on existing infrastructure and take it to the next level to develop the metrics
Required Skills (top 3 to 5/ non-negotiables):
Background in Payments and Analytics- able to articulate data trends and performance metrics and pull/ sort data from complex sources
Ability to run SQL and coding- deep knowledge with how to connect the dots and sort through existing SQL codes and suggest changes
Prior working in cross functional team

Education Requirement:
Minimum Bachelor’s in Analytical Field or related
Minimum 3-4 years in Payments or Financial Services industry, open to higher experience
