OVERVIEW
The Supply Chain Planner organizes, and oversees all activities involved in the demand planning, identification, acquisition, production, and distribution of the company’s goods
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as main contact between the company sites in regards to manufacturing and ordering for site in New Jersey.
- Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.
- Maintain and report performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.
- Develops 12-18 month rolling supply plan based of sales forecast on a monthly basis.
- Maintains required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production.
- Responsible for monthly analysis of the 12-month forecast, alerting the Sales Department when discrepancies between forecasted and actual sales trends are observed.
- Analyses current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain.
- Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes.
- Identifies best distribution of inventory across US warehouses to efficiently service.
- Assesses the need for material-handling equipment and staffing; makes recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials.
- Negotiates prices for raw material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.
- Participates as an advisory member of the product development team, providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and material, production and final product availability
- Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
- Maintains production schedule according to monthly sales forecast and customer orders.
- Ensures required sample stock for new customers is maintained to allow fast delivery and new business development.
- Review and report Manufacturing plant capacity and utilization based off supply and production plan.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Engineering or related field required.
- 3+ years of experience at similar position required.
- Prior experience in manufacturing GMP setting, food/pharma a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Thorough understanding of company products and logistics.
- SAP/ERP/MRP Experience
COMPENSATION: $100,000-$110,000
