Overview: The Packaging Designer plays a crucial role in creating innovative packaging solutions that both protect and enhance the presentation of our customers' products. From concept to execution, the Packaging Designer collaborates with sales, customer service, and clients to develop and refine packaging designs using CAD technology and structural design expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize CAD software and equipment to design and develop packaging solutions.
- Create and update detailed production drawings, including both detail and assembly drawings.
- Apply knowledge of various machines, materials, and physical sciences to complete accurate designs.
- Draft detailed multi-view drawings of products.
- Set up, maintain, and organize design files effectively.
- Liaise with Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Manufacturing teams regarding new and revised packaging designs.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of design changes.
- Meet with internal and external clients to discuss project viability and next steps.
- Process short-order production runs and manage new item setups, including tapoffs and proof approvals.
- Adhere to detailed procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
