Our client is looking for a seasoned Land Use Partner to join their team. The successful candidate will be assisting in all phases of land development, from acquisition due diligence to final project approval. You will help clients navigate the complexities of local, regional, and state approvals for industrial, commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments, ensuring smooth transitions through zoning, subdivision, and annexation processes. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with decision-makers and provide strategic legal counsel to diverse range of clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise and represent clients on zoning, subdivision, and special use permits.
- Conduct land acquisition due diligence and manage legal risks for development projects.
- Advocate before local and state planning commissions to secure necessary approvals.
- Draft and negotiate development agreements and manage annexation/entitlement processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, officials, and technical teams.
Qualifications:
- JD and state bar admission with 8-10 years of land use or real estate law experience.
- Deep knowledge of land use laws and experience in zoning and entitlement processes.
- Strong advocacy, negotiation, and drafting skills with public body representation experience.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and client service abilities.
