Position Summary
The content associate is part of a matrix team developing content that aligns with the organization’s strategic priorities and addresses unmet needs for information in the marketplace. The role helps advance our priorities by developing unique content and collaborating on forward-thinking processes.
Critical Outcomes
- Relevant and compelling written, audio, and visual content is developed to deliver timely news, celebrate advances in practice, and proactively address gaps in knowledge as a primary means of advancing positions, priorities and strategic goals.
- Content is developed at a consistently high caliber in both substance and design, appropriately reflecting and advancing the brand in an efficient and timely way that leverages the expertise of internal and external partners.
- Content reach is maximized through effective customer listening, production, and distribution techniques that increase the awareness of content, sparks reader engagement, and helps expand audiences.
- Timely content production is achieved through successful management of content systems and project management processes.
Core Responsibilities
- Content Planning and Creation. Assigns, edits, and writes original and repurposed content for digital channels, including magazine and blog. Researches the content needs of target audiences to identify unique opportunities to create value. Helps explore innovative content formats (e.g., video, interactive graphics, etc.) across distribution channels for purposes of delivering value.
- Copyediting. Shares responsibility for reviewing and copyeditingcontent to ensure consistency with our style.
- Content Delivery. Coordinates delivery of content solutions with cross-departmental teams to maximize impact, and ensuring consistency in tone, voice, and messaging.
- Content Management System. Assist a variety of content management systems to ensure a positive author experience, ensure adherence to compliance regulations, and maintenance of organizational records.
- Ambassadorship. Identifies, creates, and maintains relationships with internal and external influencers who may provide content, serve as subject matter experts, or help to promote content. Builds, maintains, and manages relationships with outside contributors, including freelance and member writers. Participates in cross-functional staff teams.
Core Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience
- Highly collaborative team member who works effectively with colleagues across the organization to pursue opportunities, overcome challenges, and maximize impact. Models and effectively communicates organizational values and priorities. Encourages partnership around shared goals.
- Passionate about the profession and its stakeholders; readily cultivates relationships with potential content authors and contributors.
- Journalistic savvy, creativity, and strong oral, written communication and copyediting skills used to advance the organization’s priorities, inspire customers, influence stakeholders, and implement content plans.
- Track record of success developing and deploying engaging content in a variety of formats and channels. Uses best practices (keywording, community building, etc.) to attract customers and deliver value.
- Commitment to continuous learning and adaptation in the face of rapid technological change.
- Ability to explore, design, and iterate solutions centered on the customer that create mutual value to the organization (design thinking capacity).
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, while satisfying deadlines to deliver outcomes.
