Job Title: Windows Server Engineer
Duration: 12 months
Location: Plano, TX (Hybrid remote 3 days onsite)
Pay Scale: $60-65/hr W2 (Cannot subcontract or C2C)
Job Description:
Matlen Silver is actively recruiting for a Windows Server Engineer that will be responsible for managing our client's Windows infrastructure with a focus on designing, planning, building, and implementing financial systems surveillance solutions. You will be involved in the planning and deployment of Windows systems, configuring network settings, managing security measures, and troubleshooting complex surveillance application issues. We are looking for an Engineer with a deep technical understanding of Windows operating systems, networking protocols, system architecture, and ideally cloud DevOps (Azure or AWS).
Project Responsibilities:
- Responsible for building out Windows infrastructure and application platforms to improve internal user experience across the organization.
- Design and implement Windows systems with consideration for requirements to deploy resilient, highly available environments.
- Will be involved in extensive provisioning of servers, application installs, load balancing/testing, storage and capacity engineering.
- SQL Server and MySQL Databases exposure and basic SQL query knowledge.
- Partner with cross functional teams to get applications installed on Windows servers.
- Making sure outdated applications are getting replaced correctly, making things seamless to the users.
- Also responsible for business continuity exercises and making sure things are compliant with their security peers.
Must Haves
- At least 8 years of Windows Server experience building, configuring, and deploying servers.
- Knowledge and experience supporting core systems and storage platform services in which the infrastructure is dependent
- Work close with vendors for vendor application installs.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting.
- Knowledge of SQL databases as they will be doing a lot of interacting with database team and wants someone who can engage and speak the language.
