OUR CLIENT:
Meet is proud to partner with a cutting-edge biotechnology out of the greater San Francisco area developing therapeutic antibodies for allergic, inflammatory, and proliferative diseases (immunology).
THE POSITION:
We're searching for a highly motivated Associate Scientist 2 / Scientist I (Analytical Development) to mainly be responsible for Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS). This role will analyze samples, develop and improve analytical methods, which include, but are not limited to HPLC/UPLC-based assays, mass spectrometry (MS), CE iCE3, UV-Vis, and glycosylation analysis assays.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Familiarity with forced degradation studies for monoclonal antibodies to assess stability under stress conditions such as pH, temperature, light, and oxidation. Use data from these studies to inform formulation and process development strategies.
- Develop and optimize HPLC/UPLC-based assays, capillary electrophoresis-based methods using PA800+ and iCE3, mass spectrometry (MS) techniques, protein concentration assays as well as binding affinity assays to support structural and biochemical characterization of antibody products.
- Ensure the laboratory and analytical instruments are well maintained and troubleshoot potential issues.
- May work with external contract labs to ensure sample submission, testing, and data analysis are on track.
- Prepare and review analytical procedures, protocols, and study reports as appropriate.
- Contribute to the investigation and resolution of out-of-specification (OOS) and out-of-trend (OOT) testing results as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree (B.S., M.S.) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific field. Preferred qualification is minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience for M.S., and 6 years for B.S. level candidates. Candidates with equivalent combination of academic achievements and industry experience will be considered.
- Relevant experience in analytical methods such as mass spectrometry (e.g., LC-MS, MALDI-TOF), HPLC (SEC, RP, IEX, HILIC), capillary electrophoresis (CE-SDS, icIEF), UV/Vis, SDS-PAGE.
- Experience with forced degradation studies, including the design, execution, and data interpretation, specifically for monoclonal antibodies.
ROLE DETAILS:
This is a contract opportunity expected to be long-term and requiring onsite in the Redwood City area.
