Summary
The Technical Product Manager, based on market needs and voice of customer, will develop product requirements and actively manage the related portfolio from product idea until discontinuation/end-of-life and develop all necessary documentation following PM-related regulative processes and sustaining activities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Retrieve and analyze feedback from customers٫ stakeholders and other teams to shape customer requirements٫ features and end products
- Accountability for revenue & gross margin for a product or product group
- Create product concepts, plans and roadmaps for next generation products, and build product strategies consistent with company vision
- Create and own NPVs and contribute to phase gate process
- Prepare and review product requirements documents
- Support Upstream / Marketing for Value Proposition, Pricing, Product Positioning and Mid-term Portfolio Strategy
- Collaborate with Upstream Marketing to build business cases for New Product Introduction
- Perform product validation in a laboratory and clinical setting
- Clinical indication and application knowledge in MIS
- Manage product changes and discontinuations with Key Account Management
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and collaborate with customers, upstream / marketing, sales and R&D
- Executing Product Lifecycle management and competition analysis
- Contribution and support of risk management process
- Coordination of sustaining activities and PM-related Regulatory Processes as Clinical Evaluation, Post Market Surveillance, Post Market Clinical Follow-up, Usability
- Act as a Medical product consultant
General Tasks
- Maintain compliance with the quality, occupational safety and environmental regulations and implementation of the instructions of the quality / environmental management officer and the occupational safety specialist.
- The manager is responsible for creating and maintaining facilities for his or her area of responsibility, and for giving instructions and taking other measures to ensure, maintain and improve occupational safety and environmental protection regarding occupational safety and environmental protection, the prevention of occupational accidents and environmental damage, occupational diseases, and work-related health hazards.
Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies
- BS in EE or related engineering discipline as a minimum;
- 5 years of relevant Product Management work experience in a related product line (medical device or similar product).
- Prior experience managing a product through entire lifecycle from initial concept, manufacturing, release and end of life.
- Requires extensive research, in-depth knowledge, and creativity. Requires that complex problems are anticipated, identified, defined, and resolved. Recommendations made by others are analyzed in order to solve issues bearing broad and long-term impact.
- Act as expert advisor for business initiatives, acts as an expert advisor in all aspects of a field of knowledge. Anticipates, plans and co-ordinates a team or teams. Team and change leadership and operating accountability are important job components.
- Work requires specialized knowledge, and at least one specific business application, combined with specialized knowledge of customer need or a specific field of knowledge related to one of the company’s major business functions.
Travel Requirements
- Travel by public transportation including train and airplane on demand
- Passport for international travel (customer & internal meetings)
Physical Requirements
- Mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.
