Job Summary
The Survey Crew Chief is responsible for collecting survey data for ALTA, boundary, topographic, and tree surveys. This role may also involve acquiring remote sensing data using unmanned aerial vehicles, mobile LiDAR systems, and terrestrial LiDAR systems.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise and train up to 3 Survey Technicians as needed.
- Ensure safety, job planning, and execution of data collection activities.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Locate and accurately survey monuments and markers.
- Identify site features relevant to the specific type of survey (e.g., utilities, storm and drainage structures, topographic features).
- Accurately enter field data using appropriate feature and linework codes.
- Maintain comprehensive field notes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in surveying and data collection techniques.
- Familiarity with remote sensing technology and software is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lead and train a small team effectively.
This role requires a proactive approach to safety and quality assurance in all surveying activities.
