Biotechnology company is hiring a Senior Research Associate to join the Immuno-oncology group. You will work with a collaborative and interdisciplinary research team that utilizes state-of-the-art technologies and innovative methodologies to advance medicines into the clinic. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the discovery, research, and development of novel immunotherapeutic agents to address unmet medical needs of cancer patients. The candidate will have opportunities for career growth through acquisition of new skills and professional relationships in a fast-paced and resource-rich environment. This is a 18-month contract.
Responsibilities
- Independently plan, execute, analyze, and interpret in vitro and in vivo immunological assays that support the initiation and advancement of drug candidate projects.
- Proactively evaluate new technologies and develop new assays to accelerate early-stage discovery activities and enhance our understanding of disease mechanisms.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and work cross-functionally with colleagues in the oncology, protein engineering, chemistry, translational medicine, biomarker and clinical groups.
- Presents research findings and recommendations to senior staff and contribute to preparation of research reports, manuscripts, INDs, and patent filings.
Qualifications
- Master's degree with 3+ years of experience or Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in immunology, immuno-oncology, cell biology, molecular biology, or biochemistry in industry or academia.
- Direct experience in research drug discovery and target identification/validation in oncology or immuno-oncology is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of immune cell biology, including T cell and myeloid cells.
- Proficiency in primary T cell-based functional assays such as activation, proliferation and cytotoxicity.
- Experience in conducting and optimizing cell-based assays, as well as performing studies to assess immune responses in human and animal models (including whole blood, PBMCs, and various primary cell subsets).
- Hands-on experience in general molecular and cell biology methods, including mammalian cell culture, multi-color flow cytometry, western blot, ELISA/Luminex/MSD, and CRISPR technology.
