Provide construction management for the Corporate Facilities PMO projects in Saint Charles, LA, related to new construction projects.
Essential Job Duties:
Monitor and report on new build projects for adequate safety, manpower, quality, and schedule coverage, including field coordination, document development, and attendance at weekly project meetings.
Monitor and verify:
- Coordination of project construction for safety, quality, budget and schedule.
- General Contractor Constructability reviews.
- Complete proper project closeout with Dow owner representatives, including punch-list, as-built drawing submissions, project completion checklist, and document retention.
- Ensure adherence to legal construction safety standards, construction contracts, field inspections, construction progress, construction orders, marshaling of equipment/materials, and communication with the steering team.
- Quality of installations per specifications, construction drawings, and manufacturers’ installation requirements.
- Act as an effective liaison between the project manager, engineering, construction teams, site operations, and safety/health teams.
- Authorized to act in a representative capacity for the owner in matters covered by the construction contract.
- Review bid submissions, payment requisitions, and change orders in conjunction with the Project Manager for Construction Management.
- Review value engineering and cost-cutting proposals set forth by the contractors and the Construction Management team.
Skills, Education and Experience:
- Requires an associate’s degree in Construction Management, Facilities Management, Engineering, or 5 years of construction management experience with strong safety compliance skills and computer skills.
- Commercial / Industrial / laboratory construction experience strongly preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of multiple construction trades including civil, electrical, and mechanical.
- Strong drive for achievement/results.
- Ability to influence and motivate employees of differing job types, skills, and interest without direct authority.
- Schedule development with MS Project or equivalent.
- Anticipated 40 hr. / week schedule or as the project coverage requires.
