Job Overview: The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for reviewing and updating the organization’s health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health and safety, risk management and compliance, combined with excellent leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement Safety Programs:
- Design, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees.
Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, local regulations, and industry best practices.
- Responsible for ISO 45001 certifications, leading the process and organization to compliance.
- Stay current with changes in safety laws and regulations, ensuring organizational compliance.
Incident Management:
- Investigate workplace accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Safety Culture and Communication:
- Promote a positive safety culture across the organization.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all health and safety-related inquiries.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization regarding safety concerns and initiatives.
Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety programs and initiatives.
- Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance workplace safety.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent work experience in the Health and Safety field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in health and safety management.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry standards, along with ISO 45001 experience.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
