Title: Credit Fund Controller
Office Status: NYC-hybrid
Salary: 200k-250k base + 50-75k bonus + carry
A $1.5b private credit hedge fund is building out their finance team. The firm launched 4 years ago and is in the middle of fundraising to launch their second fund. Their primary focus is investing in and providing financing solutions to VC back fintech organizations. The Fund Controller will oversee all accounting, operations, loan operations, FP&A and valuations. Because the team runs very lean the Controller will have similar responsibilities as a CFO and cover a wide range of tasks. The plan is to build out a team of 2 people under this person. The Controller will reporting into the COO and the Managing Partner. They are NYC based, work in the office 3x a week. The firm offers free health benefits and the fund controller will also have an opportunity to receive carry in their funds.
- Create monthly and annual financial statements and reports in SAGE for loan portfolios and fixed income investments.
- Work closely with the investment team to reconcile and report collateral performance and administrative requests.
- Manage day-to-day cash reporting and reconciliation and cash flow forecasting.
- Develop reports for investors and lenders based on cash and accrual-based financial performance.
- Manage and coordinate with outside auditors and tax preparers as needed to support quarterly and annual audit and tax workstreams.
- Lead the review of income tax projections and returns, tax compliance and reporting, and other tax matters / research as needed.
- Assist with investor reporting and compliance as needed.
- Develop management reports, budgets, variance analysis, and other project specific work on an ad-hoc basis as required.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience with a mix of big 4 and in house fund accounting experience
- Accounting knowledge of credit investments is a plus
- CPA is preferred
- CFA is a plus
- Experience managing teams
