EHS Manager will serve as a resource and subject matter expert on EHS&S to the Site Manager and collaborate with other regional EHS Managers to ensure that Site Operations are compliant with applicable environmental, health, safety & security (EHSS) regulations, security policies, & Chemical EHSS policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the implementation of safety programs, policies, & procedures to ensure an environmentally safe & secure workplace that meets or exceeds all Federal, State, Local regulations & standards. A change agent for process, system improvement, and integration of technology; and developing and administering policies and procedures.
EHS Manager Responsibilities:
- in compliance to environmental, training, safety, transportation, and all other regulations that the company must abide by while performing the following duties.
- & implement EHS & S programs in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements which includes all recordkeeping, required submissions, and other compliance obligations.
- & maintain Site(s) compliance calendar for all relevant EHS & S functions & responsibilities.
- appropriate training for employees & contractors related to implemented EHSS programs and ensure these training is delivered by various means - in person, computer based training, group sessions. Etc.
- site & laboratory EHS & S audits & inspections & ensure corrective actions are followed through on.
- the disposal of wastes generated at Site(s) is carried out according to State & Federal EPA & DOT regulations.
- safety audits & risk assessments using Process Hazards Analysis, Dust Hazard Analysis & develop operating protocols to manage these hazards.
- & conduct annual training programs as necessary to remain compliant with Federal & State requirements.
- with site management to drive the appropriate safety culture and employee engagement.
- & document loss prevention activities, industrial hygiene activities, medical support, & emergency preparedness activities. •Oversee Site(s) security guidelines.
- implementation and maintenance of the ISO 9001 and RC14001 management systems.
- as a leader in driving site safety culture, including participating/leading the site(s) safety committee.
- employees at all levels to be champions of safety.
- in all aspects of incident investigation; verifying root cause and verifying that recommended corrective actions are adequate to address the root cause findings.
- management/supervision and development of EHS & S Specialist
EHS Manager Requirements:
- knowledge of EPA, DOT, OSHA, regulations governing environmental health & safety.
- proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of software applications & GroupWise Email.
- Hygiene air monitoring knowledge preferred.
- in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
- with behavioral based safety systems preferred.
- of Science degree in Engineering, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, or in an equivalent technical field.
- of 10 plus years of experience in the environmental safety & health field.
- in the management of hazardous wastes & wastewater treatment preferred.
