Position Purpose:
As part of the Revenue Cycle team the Manager, Quality and Performance Improvement is responsible for overall transformational performance of Revenue Cycle. Functions include but are not limited to, performance and process improvement, data trending and analytics to drive decision making, critical thinking to get to root cause, collaborate with departments across the organization to course correct, develop and monitor data driven key performance indicators to measure progress.
Key Job Activities:
- Develops strategies, oversees, and coordinates the execution of Revenue Cycle projects by collaborating with the leadership of key areas including, but not limited to Accounts Receivable, Financial Clearance, HIM/Coding/Revenue Integrity, Patient Access, CDI, and Clinical Operations.
- Responsible for the development and execution of quality and process improvement plans that identifies root causes with proactive and sound approaches.
- Identifies and communicates issues for escalation. Collaborates with Revenue Cycle partners to identify and systematically resolve patterns, workflows, and processes.
- Create and consolidate structures with monitoring. Develop a methodology and committee structure to manage the performance of Revenue Cycle functions and govern operational changes that may be necessary to prevent future loss in key areas including but not limited to Accounts Receivable, Financial Clearance, HIM/Coding/Revenue Integrity, Patient Access, CDI, and Operations.
- Responsible for recruitment, development, and performance management within areas of responsibility, translating the departmental vision into meaningful and effective results. Provides ongoing feedback to team regarding productivity and quality.
- Manages and prioritizes timely review, investigation and response to Revenue Cycle trends and concerns and the required actions as required for resolution.
- Acts as a facilitator and generator of innovative ideas and a mediator on difficult issues. Builds teamwork within Revenue Cycle.
- Serve as a subject matter expert while staying up to date on Revenue Cycle regulations affecting loss prevention, revenue recovery, quality, and compliance.
- Ensure measurement and achievement of KPI’s (key performance indicators) of the department and Revenue Cycle in general while devising strategic methodology to reach and maintain those goals.
- Develop departmental strategies to meet cash projection goals, reduce days in account receivable, reduce denials, and other organizational goals.
- Develop, implement, and monitor processes to ensure compliance and consistency.
- Works with vendors and owns the resolution of all claim denials including working with internal caregivers to proactively course correct areas of revenue loss.

Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or 5 years pervious relevant healthcare leadership experience.
- Minimum 3 years working experience in Revenue Cycle Management
- Minimum 3 years of current experience in process improvement
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in Epic
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical skills
- Process improvement solutions, at both technical and strategic level throughout Revenue Cycle
- Planning and organization with the ability to achieve goals based on strict deadlines

Registry (per diem) Caregivers are caregivers who work less than 1,000 hours in a calendar year. Registry caregivers are employees of Sinai Health System but are typically on an as need basis. These caregivers may be called upon to cover full-time or part-time caregivers during PTO events or sick leave as well as to provide supplemental coverage. Registry Caregivers are not eligible for Sinai’s benefit programs with the exception for Sick-C, PPO Medical Plan, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and non-match eligible contribution to the Sinai Health System Consolidated 403(b) retirement savings plan.
