We’re looking for a Maintenance Superintendent to join our lumber mill located in Ackerman, Mississippi. Southeastern Timber Products (STP) produces forest products for customers nationally so they can build their homes and their communities.
Southeastern Timber Products started in 1972 and had been in business for over 50 years. We’re growing, and now is an exciting time to join us!
The Maintenance Superintendent will provide leadership, training, and development to supervisors & hourly personnel by managing the processes, resources, and work force to meet/exceed established budgets and performance objectives.
Job Qualifications:
- Three to five years related supervisory experience, preferably in a forest industry manufacturing environment.
- Post-secondary education in wood processing, business, engineering or related fields would be an asset.
- Extensive experience with CMMS and the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs
- Millwright or electrician trade or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Proven ability in safety management, leadership, and development skills
- Self-motivated individual with well-developed organizational, time management and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work and contribute in a team environment.
- Excellent computer application skills.

- Provide direction, training, and support for all maintenance personnel and foster a highly effective working relationship with all employees
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective preventative maintenance programs
- Embrace the principles of employee involvement and work systems by motivating both direct and non-direct reports, seeking and listening to their input, facilitating communications across the organization and leading by example
- Ensure established departmental budgets and performance objectives are met/exceeded by communicating those goals, as well as progress against those goals, on a regular basis; providing necessary training; directing resources; organizing the process (i.e. scheduling); and facilitating problem solving
- You will be responsible for achieving targets in productivity, quality, cost control and employee engagement with an uncompromising focus on safety standards.
