We are partnered with a growing, national retailer in Deschutes County, OR. They are seeking a junior Corporate Counsel to join their small legal team and assist with all legal and compliance matters, with a particular focus in commercial contracts and employment law matters. This role reports to the DGC and will collaborate with business units and employees across the company. This is a great opportunity to help build and expand the legal function of a household brand, with plans to continue their national expansion. This is a hybrid role (3-4 days in-office) in Deschutes County, OR.
Responsibilities
- Advise on a wide variety of legal issues such as commercial, employment, corporate governance, litigation, IP, and compliance, with focus in contract review and negotiation.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with existing regulations, handle product and safety recalls, and engage with government and trade associations on legislative and legal matters.
- Provide strategic counsel to HR and all internal teams to mitigate legal risks and support company operations, ensuring alignment with legal standards and corporate policies.
- Lead litigation management efforts, including coordinating with outside counsel on various legal matters.
Requirements
- J.D. and active bar membership
- 1-5 years of legal experience, in-house preferred
- Experience with contract and vendor management
