Business Overview:
This position sits within the Asset Based Lending (“ABL”) team, which offers flexible asset based financing solutions to the bank’s corporate and private equity clients across various industries, both domestically and cross-border. ABL is one of the pillars forming Transaction Banking organized within BNP Paribas’ Global Banking business.
The VP will work with senior members of the team, primarily focusing on the structuring and underwriting of transactions using credit analytics and sound business judgement, as well as supporting portfolio management, marketing, and deal syndication efforts.
The role will report to the Head of ABL.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include the following, either supporting senior deal team members or working independently:
Origination: Partner with various groups across the bank to identify prospects, evaluate new business opportunities, form financing views, and prepare marketing materials and present to clients; contribute to product development initiatives; research / track ABL market data and trends and interact with industry participants
Underwriting: Perform business and financial due diligence in coordination with deal team, third parties and company; perform collateral due diligence, incl. review and analysis of collateral reports and engaging with appraisers and auditors; review financial models and analyze borrower’s future performance, debt capacity and collateral position, and evaluate data to determine / propose optimal financing structure and security package; manage internal transaction approval process: draft ABL underwriting memoranda, present to management and credit committee
Execution: Assist in drafting and negotiating commitment letters and credit agreements; coordinate with syndication team: draft confidential information memoranda and lender presentations, organize bank meetings, answer investor due diligence questions; engage with internal / external counsel to review legal documentation; and oversee deal closing process
Portfolio & Other: Manage approval and deal execution process for amendments and refinancing of existing ABL facilities; work with portfolio management teams on ongoing risk monitoring of existing loan portfolio incl. preparation of product memos for internal loan reviews; coordinate with transaction support teams to track loan and collateral trends; support internal projects and ensure implementation of policies and procedures
Minimum Required Qualifications:
· ABL or similar credit training
· Min. 6-8 years of experience in structuring, underwriting, and executing asset based transactions
· Min. Bachelor’s degree; MBA or equivalent preferred
· Proficient in Microsoft Office
· Sound knowledge of the ABL market, industry participants, and trends
· Good understanding of Debt Capital Markets and experience working with Leveraged Finance and Private Equity clients
· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
· Strong analytical skills with attention to detail / accuracy and critical thinking
· Self-motivated, proactive, and works effectively in a team environment while assuming individual responsibility
· Good organization skills and ability to deliver within tight deadlines, working on multiple projects simultaneously, and under pressure

The expected starting salary range for this position in New York is between $165,000 and $200,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
