This is a 6 month contract to hire with our client in client in Billings, Montana. Benefits included during to contract. Open to candidates who want to relocate with relocation assistance offered. On-site at the Billings, Montana facility.
Position Overview
The E&I Technician level 1 is fully trained and qualified in all aspects of E&I. The E&I Tech 1 is responsible for the
maintenance of electrical, electronic, and pneumatic process control equipment throughout the facility.
Essential Functions

• Good working knowledge of installation of electrical systems, motor controls, planning and layout, red lines,
electrical calculations, PLC's, logic controls, ladder logic and VFD parameter programming.
• Able to write full ladder logic, PLC/DCS changes, and convert to newer versions.
• Able to use new technologies and implement to improve process and safety.
• Responsible for the maintenance of electronic and pneumatic process control equipment throughout the facility
consisting of but not limited to control valves and actuator repair; transmitter installation, calibration, and repair
(temperature, level, analytical, and pressure); installation of airline tubing and conduit; and the servicing of
controllers.
• Has the ability to schedule and train employees.
• Able to create reports and trends for maintenance, inspections, and analytics.
• Maintains all certifications and licenses.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals.
• Responsible for completing other duties as assigned.
• Work within a rotating shift or shift operation and covers as needed in emergency situations, call-ins, and
vacation.
Skill & Experience Requirements
• Friendly, results oriented, and collaborative.
• Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience required.
• Electrical experience working with voltage of 24dc to 480ac and Control Power
• A strong maintenance background working with everything from small and intricate instruments to large control
valves.
• Basic understanding of multi-meter and testing equipment
• Proven trouble shooting skills and ability.
• OSHA 10- and 30-hour certification.
• 70E, Arc Flash, and CPR trained.
• Willingness to clean and maintain a clean and safe Maintenance area.
• Actively communicate with the Shift Supervisor and all Team members
• Requires multi-tasking, good organizational skills, and self-motivation.
• Strong computer skills
• Possess time management skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Work well in a team environment and independently.
• Knowledge of sugar factory processes.
Working Relationship:
Reports to the E&I Supervisor
Employment Requirements:
Must be 18 years or older.
Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience required.
