Title: Operations Manager
Location: Richmond, Indiana
Target Pay Rate: $100K-$120K Plus 10% Bonus
Requirement: Beverage or Food process experience.
Preferred Experience: Aseptic and/or UHT experience
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead operating departments within our plant, including milk receiving, warehouse/cooler, processing, filling, packaging, and retort departments. The Operations Manager will provide direction and supervision to supervisors and staff while working closely with plant management and liaising with corporate departments such as quality assurance, human resources, accounting, engineering, purchasing, R&D, and risk management. This role involves directing personnel activities, including recruitment, performance evaluations, and salary adjustments within established HR policies and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily activities of supervisors and operations staff to ensure orders are processed and shipped safely, at the lowest cost, meeting customer requirements and service agreements.
- Oversee continuous plant operations, identify operational issues, and implement alternative methods to improve processes and procedures.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all operational activities.
- Lead the implementation of plant safety programs and ensure compliance with all federal regulations and company policies.
- Conduct meetings with department management to communicate essential policies, plans, and issues affecting operations and employee relations.
- Prepare for and participate in plant inspections by USPH, USDA, and other authorized agencies.
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate purchases for supplies and equipment as needed.
- Prepare reports and records for management review.
- Manage assigned employees, including recruitment, supervision, development, evaluation, and performance management. Administer discipline consistently and fairly.
- Maintain safe working conditions and compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Promote positive employee relations through active communication and maintain a cohesive work environment.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; undergraduate degree in a related field preferred.
- 5-8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food and/or beverage manufacturing.
- Experience in aseptic and/or UHT processes highly preferred.
- Supervisory or management experience required.
- Certification and/or licenses may be required during employment.

- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement models.
- Proven leadership and coaching skills; experience in supervision, training, and personnel management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems.
- Strong critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and foster teamwork.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle conflict situations with professionalism.
- Able to adapt to change, apply company policies, and respond to inquiries, complaints, and requests efficiently.
