Mission: Efficiently execute the transactional day to day HD and Pre-Payroll activities to support the strategy defined by the HDBP. And improve the collaborator experience by improving our current processes.
Role Objective: Provide strategic and tactical HD solutions and support in functional area of HD and must take a hands-on approach and be comfortable with all levels of employees.
What does your day look like?
Provide support and solutions to hourly and salary collaborators in their payroll needs and to the HDBPs in their daily needs related to the collaborator's life cycle, advising them and being the first point of contact, in the case of being channeled their requirement to another area, follow up to ensure closure.
Payroll administration hourly and salary:
- Verify payroll entries and changes
- Check for accuracy and report any discrepancies to payroll administrator
- Manage pension reports
- Manage workers compensation request
- Manage union dues report
- Support all bonus programs as defined by company and collective bargaining agreements
- Process payroll corrections with a continuous strive to reduce payroll errors.
- Prepare approved Petty Cash Vouchers
- Enter all new hire hours for orientation & weld training
- Cary out all end year payroll activities
Support with FMLA, USSERRA, STD, LTD , Personal Leave and other contract leave programs
- Ensure that Federal guidelines are being met for the administration of FMLA
- Track FMLA and medical leaves. Ensure that all pay for employees is administered appropriately.
- Complete/respond Hartford with information required for short-term/long-term disability
Responsible for pre-orientation and orientation tasks
- Enter new hire information (TLM Pannels) on ADP
Maintain personnel files and current employee information
- Update employee records with new hire information and/or changes in employment status
Provide support/customer service to employees in various HR and payroll topics
- Active involvement with internal customers to ensure questions and concerns are being addressed in a timely manner, support department goals and initiatives.
- Ensure that employees are treated in a fair and equitable manner.
Support with Global Mobility movements
- Collect all transfer paperwork, i9, tax information, direct deposit
- Ensure health benefits information is provided
Support with offboarding processes
- Manage SPX vendor invoices and Travel AMEX Cards
- Support Learning & Development, KIOSK Training
- Conducts employee related new hire training and other training as necessary
- Manage, track and trend hiring, termination, absenteeism and other data and reports
- Continuously evaluate processes to look for efficiency and improvement gains and work collaboratively with internal customers and other departments
- Support culture and communication
- Support local communication
Maintain and distribute, as appropriate:
- Current employee information (personnel files)
- Policy and procedure manuals
- KPI and other tracking reports
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human development, talent management, and employment law.
Maintain and foster productive working relations with the UAW as well as salaried and hourly employees:
- Train management and provide support in the interpretation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Effectively administer Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Investigate and resolve grievance
- Associate degree required, or bachelor’s degree preferred (in a Business or HR field), or experience in the human resources field of 5-7 years.
Support EEO and Affirmative Action programs/policies
Education & Experience
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP Certification – Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree and 1-3+ years’ experience, or 5-7+ years of experience with no degree
- Experience in a unionized environment setting -Required (manufacturing preferred)
- Ability to adjust schedule as needed to support operational coverage - Required.
Technical & Administrative Skills
- Proficient Computer Skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Oracle HRIS Required
- ADP Payforce Required
- KRONOS Timekeeper Central
- Understand and apply state and government regulations, laws, etc.
- Understand and apply EEO as well as Affirmative Action Programs, HIPPA, FMLA, FLSA, NLRB, and DOL standards.
