We are searching for a Power Systems Engineer to join our client's growing team.
Basic responsibilities of the Power Systems Engineer include:
- Coordinating strategies to provide power system reliability, assisting with recovery and root cause analysis of major events.
- Installation, Development and Preventive Maintenance of Substations, Transformers, Protective Relay/Breaker Coordination and other high and medium voltage electrical components.
- Arc Flash Studies
- Coordinating corrective actions and best practices, assisting in education and training of plant personnel, coordinating specifications for major equipment purchases, maintaining database of major electrical equipment, and facilitating power engineering related communication, use of power system analysis software and predictive maintenance tools/methods to monitor electrical power equipment, ensuring that all power system drawings are up to date.
- Maintaining records for protective relay settings and programming of control schemes, ensuring that electrical power system installations are in compliance with all electrical codes and standards.

· Demonstrated knowledge of electrical theory as applied to power distribution and protective equipment
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
· Ability to analyze current and future needs and think strategically.
· Ability to monitor and continue developing a preventive and predictive maintenance system, and in-depth knowledge of testing and maintenance practices related to power distribution and protection equipment.
Preferences:
· Negotiation and Project Management experience.
· Switchgear upgrade, installation, and commissioning experience.
· 3+ years of power engineering and/or power distribution switchgear and maintenance experience.
· Advanced understanding of NFPA 70E and Arc Flash.
· BS degree in Electrical/Power Engineering.
