Electrical Engineer, PE – MEP
Position Type: Direct Hire
Position Location: Plano, TX
Position Salary: $95,000 – $130,000 (Depending on Experience)
Responsibilities:
- To serve as a senior member of the electrical design team and to assist the team in production of high-quality contract documents for the firm’s clients, ensuring that the process fulfills the vision and mission
- Assist the Senior Electrical Project Team Leader in communicating project scope/budget and assigning responsibilities to electrical team members
- Attend client meetings as necessary
- Serve as a senior member of the electrical team for the design development process of electrical components for each client project
- Participate in the successful design, creation and delivery of all electrical AutoCAD and Revit drawings for each client project, including final seal of documents as necessary
- Review and approve specifications, shop drawings, addendums and other construction documents as necessary for electrical-related items
- Review field reports and conduct field inspections of electrical-related items as necessary
- Work with Human Resources Manager to develop and supervise all electrical team members
- Participate in career development training as assigned by supervisor or Human Resources Manager
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Higher Education Preferred
- Certified Professional Engineer (P.E.); Licensed Engineer in the State of Texas
- 4+ years of experience in a MEP consulting environment; Preferably designing MEP systems for schools
- Excellent knowledge of and experience with AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent knowledge of and experience with building codes
- Demonstrated experience in the design of power distribution, power and lighting, data networks, telephone and intercom systems, fire alarm systems, security and access control systems, as well as other standard electrical systems for commercial buildings
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects under strict deadlines
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to work well on a team
- Exceptional written and verbal skills
- Experience in a project management capacity preferred
- LEED accreditations preferred
