Job Summary:
Supports the Clinical Trials Office (CTO). Manages the Financial Operations of the Post-Award in support of the department’s mission & in coordination with central offices such as Sponsored Research and Accounting Services. Collaborate with and work in conjunction with various departments within the university and our medical affiliates.
The ideal candidate must have some accounting experience, and preferably some clinical trials and/or reconciliation experience, although not mandatory. Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently both written and oral. Candidate must be organized, reliable, self-sufficient, work well under pressure, and willing to learn and adapt to change seamlessly.
Responsibilities includes, but are not limited to:
Review contracts and submit invoices to sponsors/funding agencies according to the budget and payment terms of the clinical trial agreements.
Performs financial account reconciliations, both internally and externally.
Processes transfer &/or appropriation charges & perform study account close out at the end of trial and IRB termination of the protocols.
Processing no cost extensions and/or contract amendments for chart strings that have expired or about to expire so that accounting expenses and income can be applied without interruption.
Troubleshoots problems; performs vendor/subcontractor research as needed.
Must Have Skills/Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field; OR 2 years financial administration work experience; OR equivalent combination education and experience where similar knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired.
2 years financial, budgeting &/or preparing account reconciliations or financial statements along with financial analysis experience.
