Job Title: CLO Analyst – Structured Products
Location: Hybrid (Flexible In-office Days)
Compensation: $165,000 - $325,000 base salary, plus discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits
Job Overview:
We are seeking an exceptional CLO Analyst with a strong background in data analysis, statistical methods, and structured products to join our fast-growing Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) investment business. This role will work closely with the portfolio manager, providing support in all facets of CLO trading, credit analysis, and the development of quantitative strategies. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, a deep understanding of structured products, and the drive to contribute to a high-performance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Application & Model Development:
- Build and support tools, models, and applications for CLO trading.
- Automate and enhance existing workflows to increase efficiency in the analysis and trading of CLO tranches.
- Credit Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth credit analysis for CLOs in both new issue and secondary markets.
- Provide recommendations based on thorough research and financial evaluation of CLO securities.
- Quantitative Strategy Development:
- Develop quantitative alpha strategies, including idea generation, data collection, analysis, and model creation.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers to implement strategies into portfolios.
- Research Initiatives:
- Pursue innovative research topics within the structured products space, particularly CLOs.
- Explore and develop new methods to analyze and trade structured products.
- Market & Trading Interface:
- Actively engage with the CLO market and assist in the trading of CLO tranches under supervision.
- Maintain relationships with market participants and contribute to portfolio management activities.
Qualifications:
- Academic Excellence: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or computer science).
- Technical Skills:
- Strong programming experience, particularly with Python.
- Proficient in working with large data sets and complex financial models.
- Industry Expertise:
- 2 to 10 years of experience in structured products; direct exposure to leveraged credit and CLOs is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with vendor models/platforms such as Intex, Valitana, and Bloomberg is essential.
- Research & Analysis:
- Proven ability to conduct in-depth research projects.
- Strong communication skills to articulate complex ideas and analysis clearly.
