Casa Lending is currently looking for a Paralegal to join our growing team in Cleveland, OH. This role is primarily responsible for ensuring originated loans are properly perfected across all jurisdictions in which we operate. This includes working with our Loan Production Team and various outside counsel and Title companies on closing loans, reviewing title policies, and all other legal matters related to origination of loans. This role will be located in our Cleveland office.

Day to Day:
- Advises and partners with the loan production team to ensure loans are properly perfected in multiple jurisdictions while providing a first-class experience to clients.
- Drafts, prepares, reviews, and distributes a high volume and wide variety of legal documents that may include complex scenarios requiring manual edits, including: Loan Documents, Mortgages, Deeds of Trust, Signed Documents.
- May draft, prepare, review, and distribute of the following legal documents: Loan Discharge Documents, Assignment Documents, Loan Extensions, UCCs, Other Signed Legal Documents.
- Completes the following tasks and escalates to the Closing Attorney team when needed:
- Conducts title reviews to ensure we have a first lien position on all of our loans, escalating to the Closing Attorney team when needed.
- Corresponds with title companies to ensure proper recording and filing of lending instruments, and finalization of title policies.
- Completes the final review of the loan document package for loan closings.
- Coordinates with title companies and on occasion, external counsel to ensure smooth loan closings.
- Reviews borrowing entity document and confirms authority for loan execution.
- Supports the Closing Attorneys and the rest of the Legal Support team (Law Clerks, Legal Assistants, and Paralegals) in the completion of legal tasks.
- Collaborates closely with the other members of the loan production team to meet deadlines.
- Manages high-volume workload with ability to work autonomously.
- Supports the Company as needed, including other departments on an ad-hoc basis.
Qualifications:
- Transactional paralegal or title review experience preferred.
- Knowledge of mortgage and lending practices required.
- An expert in organization and time management.
- Execute with high attention to detail.
- Strong oral and written communications skills.
- Demonstrate ability to execute with a sense of urgency based on operational needs.
