SUMMARY
Leads assigned automation and modernization projects including managing scope, change, schedule, cost, quality, open issues, risks, resources, and overall project communications. Works with engineering teams to develop an accurate budget and project quote outlining key concept points, sequence of operations and mechanical/electrical descriptions to create integrated robotic solutions. Exercises independent judgment and discretion to maintain project scope and perform within schedule and budget parameters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with engineering teams to generate conceptual solutions for robotic automation and modernization projects and leads their implementation including managing scope, change, schedule, cost, quality, open issues, risks, resources, and overall project communications.
- Works with stakeholders to develop requirements definition, concept generation, estimates, cost development, presentation of the proposal, and project scope.
- Develops responsibility matrix with all stakeholders and cross functional team members.
- Identifies necessary resources (internal / external) and leads cross-functional project team with overall responsibility and authority for project performance throughout the project life cycle.
- Works with customer and sales to manage change requests to maintain planned margin.
- Reviews project proposals to develop goals, time frame, budgets, and procedures for accomplishing projects.
- Develops and strengthens customer relationship and manages day-to-day operational aspects and client interaction.
- Conducts periodic meetings with stakeholders presenting status and recording open issues.
- Publishes status and open issues after each periodic meeting.
- Analyzes project profitability, develops and manages project budget, and monitors receivables.
- Understands basic revenue models, P/L, and cost-to-completion projections and makes decisions accordingly.
- Creates, executes, and adjusts project work plans as needed.
- Oversees and coordinates activities of on-site personnel (internal / external).
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees the daily activities of on-site personnel (internal / external) and provides input regarding employee training opportunities; planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience as an Application / Design / System / Planning Engineer in the field of robot integration.
- 5+ years of Project Management within the automotive industry.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and five years of related technical/engineering experience in the robotic automation field.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, electronic, etc. prints and other related technical documentation.
- Requires knowledge of the fundamentals of customer service for phone and face-to-face contact with customers and
- Strong PC skills/knowledge (MS Office environment, Internet, email, etc.). Ability to develop and use spreadsheets and graphs to track project progress.
- Experience with KUKA robots is a plus.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid Driver’s License and Passport.
- PMP certification is a plus.
- Agile / Scrum Master Certification is a plus.
