Job Summary:
The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and models of sheet metal fabrications and weldments for our client. This role will require strong proficiency in SolidWorks and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed drawings and models of sheet metal fabrications and weldments using SolidWorks.
- Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
- Generate bills of materials (BOMs) and other required documentation.
- Conduct tolerance studies and stress analyses to ensure design integrity.
- Create and maintain detailed assembly drawings and component drawings.
- Research and select appropriate materials and components for designs.
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication design and/or weldment design.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including sheet metal fabrication and welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
