NetGain Technologies’ Professional Services Team (PSE) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solution Architect to join our team. In this role, you will focus on IT solution development and project implementation. As a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex IT solutions to meet the needs of our clients’ business goals, while training and mentoring other engineers to implement your designed solutions with guidance and oversight. You will work directly with our Sales, and Managed Services teams to ensure that our technology offerings align with business needs and will allow us to effectively support our business processes.
To successfully align IT solutions with business objectives, a Solution Architect must have strong leadership and communication skills, as well as both technical and business knowledge. As a Solutions Architect, you will need to understand the business needs of the organization to understand which IT solutions will fit the company’s current and future goals. Your leadership skills will be important for steering the overall process of identifying key business objectives and determining the requirements for each solution. One of your main focuses is on the technical decisions being made regarding a particular solution and how it will impact business outcomes. You and the other members of the PSE team will then use that information to implement a solution for our clients.
Job Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Develop Project Proposals and Scopes of Work
- Determine a project’s scope and be able to write a full proposal and implementation plan.
- Perform detailed research on a client’s existing systems and environments to develop ideal solutions.
- Determine the hardware and software requirements and put together appropriate bills of materials.
Develop and maintain standards for solutions
- Keep skills updated and remain proactively aware of new solutions and how those might fit into our company’s standard offerings.
- Mentor, educate, and train engineers across teams as needed.
- Maintain an understanding of how individual work and decisions fit into the broader organizational picture.
- Monitor that standards are being met and incorporate change as needed into future implementations.
Work Directly with our Sales and Client Success Teams
- Participate in proposal delivery and presales meetings with clients to understand business needs and requirements.
- Determine project scope and specifications for a solution.
- Prepare reports and presentations or demonstrations to clients.
- Provide advice and make decisions about which technologies would be suitable for various projects.
Collaborate with the Project Team
- Answer questions or help to resolve issues as they arise from fellow team members.
- Ensure that specifications and requirements are being met.
- Act as a contributing member of the project team from project inception to completion.
- Consistently monitor the scope of projects to adjust implementation standards and risk assessment for future projects.
Collaborate with External Vendors
- Work with outside vendors to develop solutions.
- Ensure that partner discounts and deals are adequately utilized.
- Coordinate and work with vendors to provide demonstrations for clients.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Minimum of 15 years’ hands-on experience in IT
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT or equivalent certs/experience
- Reside in or near Cincinnati, Ohio
- Willingness to travel to client locations
- Ability to lift 25lbs
- At least 3 years in a customer facing role
