We are conducting a confidential search for a Supply Chain Director with a company that is a global supplier of industrial components to the automotive and commercial vehicle markets. This is a direct-hire position and it is based in the metro Detroit area.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Ensure customer satisfaction: Supervise day to day activities, anticipate customer requirements, maintain good relationships and manage the launch of new programs within the plant.
- Direct a multidisciplinary logistics team and set Supply Chain objectives.
- Assure the responsibility of the master scheduling plan with Plant Manager, improve & enhance performance and relationships of suppliers and logistics partners.
- Monitor logistics performance and implement necessary improvement actions in coordination with other plant functions (Quality, Production, etc.).
- Collaborate with Finance teams to establish inventory and freight forecasts..
- Oversee weekly inventory value and days on hand comparison to goal.
- Review obsolescence value, claimable and non-claimable inventory and ensure claims are submitted in the customer systems prior to the deadlines.
- Lead management in execution of a training matrix across levels
- Ensure completion of semi-annual performance reviews and individual development plans.
- Ensure the supply chain team members consistently participate in plant preparedness and execution of TS 16949, internal/external & SOX Audits.

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
* Bachelors degree
* 5+ years experience as a Supply Chain Director/Manager and/or Materials Manager
* Experience in the automotive industry
* Experience in a plant manufacturing environment
* Familiar with MRP systems
* JIT experience is a plus
* Lean Manufacturing Mindset
* Previous supervisory experience
