SUMMARY: We are seeking a Field Service Instrumentation Technician to perform service-related work in the North Texas area, specifically in Houston and Dallas. The candidate will be required to provide installation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of instrumentation, controls, and analyzers. Interaction with customers on many levels (operations, maintenance, planning, environmental health & safety, and engineering) will be a key part of the role. The ideal candidate will bring expertise to ensure that the products perform and meet customer expectations. The candidate will also be required to follow all customer safety policies and procedures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Start-Up, Commissioning, and Troubleshooting of Instrumentation.
- Travel to locations within the service coverage area, specifically Texas.
- Multiple overnight trips required per month, with travel up to 70%.
- Operate a program that focuses on personal and process safety (Zero accidents, releases, or process downtime).
- Maintain open communication with customers.
- Maintain 100% compliance with all site-specific training.
- Complete all scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) work orders as scheduled.
- Provide subject matter expertise to customers for any flow, pressure, temperature, valves, pH, conductivity, or other instrumentation and analytical issues.
QUALIFICATIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of process instrumentation such as Coriolis, Magmeter, Vortex, Pressure, RTD’s, Thermocouples, Radar Level.
- Knowledge of electronics, process diagrams (loop and data sheets), and test equipment (multi-meters, loop calibrators, oscilloscopes, etc.).
- Knowledge of valves and instrumentation: analytical, pneumatic, electronic, and smart.
- Associates degree in Instrumentation Technology or a technical degree with at least 5+ years in process instrumentation equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of plant maintenance or on-demand field service experience.
- Computer skills (i.e., MS Office Suite and Salesforce).
- Ability to work with minimal oversight.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to rotate "On-Call" responsibilities.
