Prestige Staffing is working on an exciting Director of Human Resources with our client, one of the only warm weather destinations with three courses in the "Top 40 You Can Play" in the United States!
In this position, you will manage the property human resources department, including Recruiters, Trainers, and Human Resources Managers. You will support and implement property-wide human resources strategies, plans, and programs, which facilitate property growth and maximize competitiveness. You will also serve as an internal resource for property teams of over 400 employees in the areas of performance management, recruiting, training, compensation, benefits, productivity analysis, employee morale, employment litigation, legal and regulatory compliance, and workers compensation.
Responsibilities
- Providing coaching on routine to complex employee relations issues as well as Human Resources (HR) Policies, programs, and processes.
- Educating management and administrative staff in appropriate use of HR policies and procedures to ensure effective staff management in compliance with Federal and State laws.
- Delivering training workshops on key HR programs (Safety National and Worker’s Compensation).
- Ensuring consistency of program applications per Company guidelines and Department of Labor (DOL) regulations.
- Managing employee retention strategies and handle property reduction in forces (RIFs).
- Engagement leader and monthly events.
- Employee relation issue management.
- Conducting performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Analyzing information and data necessary to define and discern cost and policy implications of negotiations and disputes.
- Using surveys, interviews, and other studies to conduct research regarding human resource policies, compensation, and other employment issues.
- Researching and explaining laws and legal affairs concerning employment to managers, supervisors, and employees.
- Advising and training managers and supervisors in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing supervisor problems and employee grievances.
- Collaborating with leadership on matters of policy and terms of memoranda of understanding before and throughout negotiation process.
- Collaborating with legal counsel and departments in the preparation for and participation in negotiation with employees.
- Analyzing Compensation for property-level staff.
- Acting as a Member of the Leadership committee.
Ideal Candidate
The individual we are looking for will have a thorough understanding of state and federal laws concerning labor relations with 7 to 10 years of professional human resource administration experience, including two years in employee relations preferred OR its equivalent through training, education, and other experience.
- Able to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
- Thorough understanding of negotiation techniques.
- Experienced in counseling, conflict resolution, performance management, dispute resolution and compensation administration.
- Able to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Employee Relations, Human Resources or related field required.
- Able to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
