The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the supply chain, ensuring the efficient and timely transportation and delivery of goods. This role involves coordinating shipments, monitoring inventory, liaising with suppliers and vendors, and maintaining accurate records to ensure seamless logistics operations
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor inbound and outbound shipments.
- Ensure timely delivery and shipment of goods to customers or warehouses.
- Schedule deliveries with carriers and maintain clear communication with drivers and warehouse staff.
- Track and manage inventory levels to ensure products are available when needed.
- Oversee product storage and distribution to ensure that inventory levels remain optimal.
- Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and customers to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and carriers to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts and rates with transportation and logistics service providers.
- Prepare and maintain shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and other relevant paperwork.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international shipping regulations, including customs requirements.
- Track shipments and resolve any issues or delays in real-time.
- Identify and resolve logistics and transportation issues, such as shipment delays, product damage, or lost inventory.
- Implement solutions to minimize delivery time and cost, while maximizing efficiency.
- Input data into logistics software and maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory levels, and transportation costs.
- Communicate with customers regarding the status of their orders and deliveries.
- Address customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback about shipping and logistics.
Qualifications:
- 2-3+ Years of Proven experience as a logistics coordinator, fleet manager, dispatcher, or other transportation related experience
- Proficiency in logistics software (such as ERP or WMS systems).
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes and shipping regulations.
- Experience with MS Office, especially Excel, for data entry and reporting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Problem-solving aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
