Summary
The Superintendent position is critical to the success of Burger Construction. The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and supervising projects from start to finish. They ensure that the quality of work and materials is upheld and that the budget is followed as planned. They are responsible for the total supervision of all operations on the site. They ensure that the workers are implementing what is on the design plan. They monitor the workers and the progress of the project and report to the client as well as to their project manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Communicating with clients, subcontractors and project managers on all aspects of the project.
· Maintains positive relations with clients and is professional, courteous and attentive to their needs
· Thoroughly reviews and understands plans, submittals, RFI’s and field conditions
· Ensuring that project plans are implemented
· Being on site to oversee the construction process
· Commuting to & performing superintendent duties at multiple job sites
· Proactively performing layout for the job and verifying field conditions to identify and avoid conflicts
· Organizing workers and ensuring they are performing as required
· General inspection of the workers and their performance and safety
· Hold weekly jobsite safety meetings with subcontractors and staff on site
· Review daily jobsite conditions for safety and ensure that stipulated safety rules and regulations are met by subcontractors and on site staff
· Liaises with city inspectors on the standard requirements of the site in terms of licenses and safety
· Supervise & Schedule subcontractors, consultants and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion
· Provides electronic 2 week schedules weekly to the project team
· Schedules work in a way that allows subcontractors to be efficient and profitable
· Ensures that quality is preserved in the construction process and that the budget is maintained
· Documenting project progress

· Ability to schedule and multitask several jobs at one time
· Ability to communicate effectively
· Knowledgeable in building and construction processes
· Be a good problem solver
· Be available to work nights and weekends when required
· Be proficient in Procore, BlueBeam, Microsoft Excel & Word
· Minimum High School Diploma. College or University degree in a construction relate field is an asset.
· A minimum 5 years’ experience in Commercial Tenant Improvement Construction
· Be able to lift 50lbs
· Be able to maneuver and walk through a jobsite
· Must have own tools and be proficient with them
Certificates & Licenses
· Required to have an up to date CPR/First Aid certificate
· OSHA 10 certificate at a minimum/ OSHA 30 preferred
· Valid Driver’s License
