SR. CUSTOMS COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST - NOVI, MI

Our client is seeking a Sr. Customs Compliance Specialist to ensure U.S. trade law compliance, minimize risks, and maximize opportunities.
SR. CUSTOMS COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ensure compliance with U.S. trade laws, reduce risks, and find opportunities.
* Help implement a strong trade compliance program, improving processes and saving costs.
* Monitor and report U.S. trade policy changes and assess risks.
* Manage U.S. import compliance, including:
* Value reconciliation, Free Trade Agreements, special tariffs, In-Bond shipments
* CTPAT, post-entry audits, broker management, HTS classification
* Compliance training, record retention, cost reduction, and duty optimization
* Serve as the main contact for brokers on entry creation and tariff provisions.
* Collaborate with external providers on tariff classification, audits, and updates.
* Maintain the Entry Data Warehouse and monitor quotas and tariffs (e.g., ADD/CVD).
* Support import/export compliance and participate in CTPAT initiatives.
* Adapt quickly to trade policy changes and adjust business processes.
* Manage multiple high-priority projects.
* Interact with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), customs brokers, service providers, trade organizations.
SR. CUSTOMS COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST REQUIREMENTS
* At least five years of U.S. import compliance experience.
* Bachelor's in International Business, Logistics, or related field. Certified Customs Specialist or U.S. Licensed Customs Broker preferred.
* U.S. import regulations, ACE reporting, value reconciliation, Free Trade Agreements, HTS classification, ADD/CVD.
* Strong multitasking, communication, and attention to detail. Able to work under pressure and independently.
