JOB SUMMARY
As a HVAC Technician, you will maintain mechanical and electrical equipment for commercial HVAC systems at facilities by conducting proactive performance testing and ongoing scheduled maintenance. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for supporting, preventive maintenance, and repairing equipment and systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, repair, adjust, and maintain small electric or pneumatic control systems used for building. This includes heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment.
- Conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine the best course of action for equipment modifications.
- Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion
- Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Valid driver's license required.
- Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
- Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
- Not less than 2 years experience as a control technician for commercial office buildings, and will be responsible for programming, inspecting, troubleshooting, and adjusting electrical and mechanical equipment, instrumentation, and related information systems
- Membership in the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 302, is required as a condition of employment for this position
- 06 or 06A HVAC/Electrical certification or pursuit of the same preferred
- Must be proficient in operating Smart Building Manage Software systems
- Capable of reading the programmable logic schematics from the PLC network that connect the building operating systems that manage pressure, temperature and alarms.
- A working understanding of coding to communicate with the programmers to effectively resolve issues
