Mission:
The aim of this position is manage external warehouse contracts and provide packaging management of raw materials and component parts to manufacturing and validate packaging is available for production when needed. This includes ensuring the material is shipped on time and received and stored accurately.
Essential Functions of Role:
Supervisory Capacity: No Supervisory Responsibilities
Provide project leadership for new product launches as well as cost savings initiatives within the packaging space.
Focus on and assist with World Class Manufacturing (WCM) work including Plan for Every Part (PFEP), Kanban, standardized work, packaging, part sequencing, fork-free solutions, and problem solving.
Communicate directly with the supply base on and supply issues and wok with internal partners on quality and inventory issues. Communicate directly with transportation teams for in-transit events tracking. Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects related to improving material/packaging management.
Work on continuous improvement projects and documentation related to improving material management and material flow.
Support and lead Third Party Logistics (3PL) outsourced parts warehouse operation, contract, costs, damaging process, equipment.
Work with cross-functional team, including Logistics, Purchasing, Engineering, and Quality to support inbound material packaging and process requirement for new product launches.
Manage the packaging of raw material and components parts to the plant and ensure material is available for production when needed including proactive and reactive problem solving with cross-functional partners.
Manage multiple project initiatives to support Material Control and Logistics (MCL). Generate reports and presentations based on metrics.
Communicate with co-workers, management, customers, vendors, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
Confirm with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.

What we are looking for:
Educational Requirement: Bachelor's Level Degree
Area of Study: Supply Chain Management or Engineering (Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.)
Years of Experience Required:
3-5 Minimum Years of Experience with supply chain and manufacturing.
Less Than 1 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry.
Experience in project management.
Experience in packaging design and approval is preferred.
Required Qualifications:
Language Required: English (Fluency with Reading, Writing, Speaking)
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively to meet short deadlines.
Excellent client service skills and ability to effectively communicate with individuals by phone, email, and in-person.
Excellent product development knowledge.
Advanced skills to identify, analyze, and work to find solutions to complex problems.
Effective at developing and using standardized work.
Ability to understand and employ basic change management methodology.
Working knowledge an understanding of continuous improvement tools.
Knowledge of transportation requirements, customs clearance, transportation modes, packaging requirement and expedite processes domestically and internationally.
Excellent knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Excellent knowledge in analyzing tooling reports and JIT.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of manufacturing and supply chain concepts and parts flow.
Excellent knowledge of IATF 16949 Logistics Standards, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
Travel Required: 5-25%
