This purpose of this project is to integrate two organization's Salesforce systems as part of a recent merger. The role of the Salesforce Architect is to conduct thorough assessments on inefficiencies, permissions, data flows as part of the integration; then redesign and plan changes to be implemented by Salesforce Developers. Currently, most of the Salesforce features are out-of-box with minimal customization.
The scope of the Salesforce Architect role is to review, assess, design, develop, and plan to implement a fully functional CRM/account management system that is scalable, secure, and efficient. With a strong foundation based on regulatory compliance, the solution will uncover revenue opportunities for the sales team both domestically and internationally.
Deliverables:
- Evaluate current salesforce implementation to identify gaps, inefficiencies and areas for improvement both with integrations with other systems and business processes based on salesforce best practices. (Assessment report)
- A detailed technical architecture document that outlines the data model, integration strategy with other systems, security and data privacy model, org structure and best practices for ongoing salesforce maintenance. (architecture plan)
- An implementation plan to configure salesforce to meet current and future business requirements, integrations (i.e. marketing automation, email marketing, operational systems, TSA databases etc.), and ensure data integrity and consistency across systems where salesforce is the system of truth. (implementation plan)
- A data migration and integrity plan that identifies existing data structure in the system as well as new data sources, targets, and mapping of the data from other systems into salesforce. (data migration plan)
- A test plan that covers the functional, performance, and security testing of the salesforce solution. (test plan)
- A training plan that provides ongoing guidance and support for end users and administrators of the salesforce solution. (training plan)
Success:
- The salesforce solution meets the functional, performance, and security requirements.
- Seamless integration of data into salesforce from other salesforce instances and/or other systems with zero data loss or integrity issues for migrated data.
- The future state salesforce solution is documented and follows the salesforce best practices and standards.
- The salesforce solution is adopted by the end users and provides data and visuals that align to business goals and processes including sales KPIs
- Provide documentation for ongoing IT oversight of the technical teams who will implement and maintain the system in the future state.
- Salesforce becomes source of truth for all commercial data, resulting in a reduction of manual processes, customer data errors and proactively offers up revenue opportunities to the sales team.
