Job Duties/Description:
- Cultivate a deep understanding of the lighting, lighting/building controls, and EV charging markets, including relevant practices and industry trends to refine supplier negotiation strategies.
- Predict price trends and assess their potential impact on future business.
- Conduct research to find the best products and suppliers based on value, delivery schedules, and quality.
- Facilitate communication between suppliers, manufacturers, internal departments, and customers.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing contracts and oversee the quality of service provided.
- Prepare pricing quotes by verifying specifications, checking prices, sourcing recommendations for alternative items, and obtaining necessary approvals from the technology department, if required.
- Use a pricing database to ensure competitive quotes.
- Source services to reduce overall cost of goods sold (COGS) in Oracle.
- Oversee supplier performance through quarterly vendor scorecards.
- Approve purchase requisitions by comparing requested items to a master list, resolving issues before purchase order approval, and recommending alternatives.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of buying experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
- CALT certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of lighting, electrical systems, and LED project management is advantageous (industrial, retail, etc.).
- Experience with material procurement and negotiations.
- Experience in developing vendor performance programs and expertise in communicating and presenting to vendors.
- Experience in vendor management, sourcing, and negotiating across various sectors (installations, industrial, commercial, retail, etc.).
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Additional Info:
- Pay range: $60,000 to $65,000 + 10% bonus
- Schedule: M-F, flexible hours
- Location: In office (some flexibility)
- Type: Direct Hire with full benefits
